Why We Support:

Rainforest Trust protects the world’s most threatened endangered species, rainforests and other habitat.

Over the past 33 years (since 1988), Rainforest Trust has protected more than 38 million acres. In 2021 alone the organization saved 2.9 million acres - that’s one acre every 11 seconds!

100% of project donations directly fund conservation action. This is thanks to the board members and donors who fund the organization’s operating expenses. For their size and achievements, Rainforest Trust is one of the most efficient international conservation NGOs in the world!

Each project donation protects real acres and saves endangered species. They are focused on tangible results. Contributions do not support lobbying, political activities, or special interests. Rainforest Trust holds Charity Navigator’s highest 4-Star rating for its commitment to transparency, accountability and efficiency, exceeding the standards in their field.

How they work:

1. PARTNER WITH LOCAL EXPERTS
Establish strategic partnerships with experienced, in-country organizations with knowledge of their region’s ecosystems and local communities and a track record of achievement.
2. IDENTIFY HIGHEST PRIORITY AREAS
Together they identify critical sites that provide a permanent refuge for endangered species. These biodiverse areas face immediate and direct threats, typically from loggers, miners or ranchers.
3. DEVELOP CONSERVATION PLAN
Develop scientifically based conservation plans that are not only timely, but also resilient and sustainable. With detailed plans in place, we raise the funds necessary to implement them.
4. CREATE PROTECTED RESERVES
Their partners work closely with their national governments and local communities to formally Establish reserves protecting the land

Eating more plant-based meals is one of the best ways to save our planet. Producing plant protein uses much less land, energy, or water compared to animal sources, with less waste or greenhouse gasses. Even just switching one meal a day to plant-based greatly reduces your environmental impact.
